First haircut

Did she care? No...

But, she didn't want to sit still in the end for a picture. She really wanted to go play with the other kids.

My first "beach" trip

Grandpa Ed and Grandma Di came and we had a great time! They stayed up at Lake Allatoona and we went up for an afternoon. They took her to the beach and she played in the water and the sand. I now understand why parents hate sand. I had to change her sheets even after a bath!

Ella was really into Grandma's Harley boots too!

And, this is her new trick. To put the back of her hand on her forehead and make s noise like she is stressed out.

Swimming

Ella LOVES to be in the water. We love that!

She is currently in swimming lessons and is the only one who hasn't gotten upset about something the instructor does. Probably just jinxed myself on that one. But, she is like a fish and can reach and grab the wall when she is "dunked."

Here are a few of her in our home pool. The patent leather shoes are her favorite and they are too small so I let her wear them in the pool.

Random shots

Melissa got Ella this awesome Hawkeye's outfit. The people at daycare really got a kick out of her wearing it.

Just a good one of Ella and me. This picture made me realize that she HAD to get a haircut, which you see in another post.

Ahhh, and the makeup. I think I had about 10 tubes of lipsticks and now have 2. I know, my fault. She likes to watch me get ready in the morning. She was sitting RIGHT NEXT TO ME and did this. I was in such a rush to get ready and out the door. Sure made me laugh, though. This was the only time she got like this. I know it won't be the last.

Out of hibernation

Ok, ok, ok....I get it! You want Ella updates!

She is doing great!

Daddy loves Oreos...he thought she might too...

Lukas's kids came in June and we went and played at the indoor hamster cage. Ella was fearless and kept going places that I couldn't go. She found her way back out every time and LOVED it.

With all of the travel I did this summer, it was hard to get to Iowa for the 4th. So, we went to the Marietta Square and had a great time! She loved watching all the noisey things. The mom of Ms. Runner Up Georgia snapped the family photo. Not a great one of me, but this blog isn't about me, now is it:)

3/16/2009

Who knew a year would go so fast? Our baby is getting big!

Her birthday dinner.........White turkey hotdog, cooked carrots, fruit, and milk. Sounds great, huh?

Ella had round two of cake for her actual birthday. She is such a girl. Ella didn't really dig in like we thought she would, but she thought chocolate was okay.

Ella's Birthday

Ella had a TERRIFIC birthday party on the 14th. She had her Grandma Di, Aunt Dawn, and Aunt Jackie came down to help celebrate. Of course she had a great time being walked around by all of them. Let her get ahold of your fingers and she is off with you!

Ella did eat some cake and didn't really play in it like we thought she would. She was a tired girl, but not fussy. She only stayed up for an hour and a half of her party. Ella slept for 2 hours in the morning so we thought she'd make it. It's all about the socialization for the adults at a one year old party!

Ed's Dad, Dianne, Jackie, and Joe got Ella her first "ride." She is semi-cruising on it, as long as she keeps her balance:)

Semi first snow

Ella got out in her first Georgia snow today. Auntie Shawn had the idea to get out and play. We played as much as any almost one year old will play in the snow.

She had fun, until we had her sit in the snow...on towels of course.

Semi Lift Off

Well, Ella sure hasn't crawled. That has not stopped her from rolling to everything that she wants. On Thursday, she did take her first few steps. Prior to this, she thought lunging was the proper way to get from point at to point be while vertical. Might be good for the butt muscles... About the time we got the camera, she was getting tired, but you can see a few of those steps.

March 16th is quickly approaching. Ella will then be moving to the toddler room at school. While we hate to leave her current teachers, change is not always a bad thing (can you tell that Mommy has to keep telling herself that?).

Things are great in Georgia. Jobs are good, business is good, life is good. We feel very blessed to have the important things in life in the position they are in. Stay tuned for BABY ONE watch!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Ella loved Valentine's Day. They had a heart pancake breakfast at daycare on Friday. She loved the pancakes. Imagine that...she is our carbo-baby:) Ella helped Mommy make cookies for the daycare people. When we took them in we saw people bringing in baskets of tulips. I guess next year we will have to bring rose bushes:)

Grandma Ann provided Ella with a weeks worth of Valentine's outfits. Everyone thought it was sweet that she wore an outfit every day. Ella does not lack in the clothing department.

Below is Ella EXCITED about eating cottage cheese. She takes after Mommy there!

Ella is doing great! She is "walking"...holding on, of course. Still not interested in crawling. Today she started "waiting" for us standing up, holding on, at the foot of her crib. It was pretty darn cute.

Of course, Ella's new skill set comes with a few bumps and bruises. She took herself a tumble at daycare and got a little goose egg and a scratch on her nose. To top that off, she took another tumble at home and added to her scratch on her nose. Ella is a tough cookie, though. Straight back at it.

Hope you enjoyed! One month and one day until Ella is ONE!!! Where did the year go???

Magnetic Fun

Ella is getting so big! 29 inches tall and 20 pounds, 4 ounces. She is very curious about everything and loves to find the tiniest particles to put on her fingers. That means we need to mop and vacuum more!

Ella has four teeth. Her middle front on the top and the bottom. She makes some very goofy smiles.

We got her some numbers for the fridge. She LOVES playing with them.

Second Cousins and Pigtails

Stephanie's cousin Erin lives in Lexington and was coming through for vacation. Erin, Lane, and their son Zander, came for brunch. Zander was born on February 26th, so it was fun to see Ella with someone so close to her age. They had fun playing. Zander is very handsome and is cruising. Ella, on the other hand, will roll to where she wants to go and maybe army crawl when she is really desperate for a toy. Mom crawls all around and "teases" Ella, but not interested.

Here are some pictures of her and Zander playing...

Ella also has experienced her first double ear infection. She has been remarkably calm about it. Ed stayed home the morning Friday and Stephanie came home after she taught her Beginning Programming so Ed could go to work. Lots of sleep. Now the question is do we try to go anywhere or give it another day...

Hope you enjoyed!

One more Christmas

This traveling really makes me tired...

Christmas Season

Well, it's almost officially over at our house. The decorations are down, the tree is undressed (notice, not put away).

We had a great time in Iowa although Ella was sick the week before we left, then mom got sick there. But, it was an AWESOME time even though it was SEVEN BELOW without the wind chill the first few days. Of course we followed that up with about EIGHT INCHES of snow to warm things up. Then we fly home when it is FIFTY and raining. Crazy weather...

Anyhow, here are some pictures and so sorry for the delay.

Is he not handsome?

Grandma...Mommy said you always leave wrapping to her. Even her own presents? Come on Grams, get with it!

We are a good looking bunch!

Grandpa, you gonna make that clock make noise again? I like the bird thing that comes out of it...

Oh, guys, these are the BEST! I like sitting at the table!
